Temporary Closure of On-Board Toilet Facilities
Tamar Crossings has been notified by the Environment Agency of a potential regulatory issue relating to the toilet facilities on board our ferries and we are now taking some time to investigate the possible issue.
While we work with the Environment Agency to investigate the matter and establish the facts, we have taken the precautionary decision to temporarily withdraw all on-board toilet facilities from service from 7:00pm on Tuesday 9 June. Portaloo cabins have been installed on both sides of the ferry for public and crew use.
This action has been taken as a responsible measure while the investigation is ongoing - protecting the quality of the River Tamar and ensuring compliance with all environmental regulations is a priority for Tamar Crossings.
We recognise that the temporary loss of these facilities will be inconvenient for some customers, public toilet facilities remain available on both sides of the river in Devonport Park and Torpoint town centre, and we have provided portaloo cabins on both sides of the river by our slipways.
We will be investigating over the coming days, and we will provide further updates as soon as more information becomes available.
We thank customers for their understanding and patience while this matter is being reviewed.
