Temporary change to Tamar Tag application process
Temporary changes to new TamarTag applications
We are currently experiencing an unusually high demand for new TamarTags at the same time as our tag manufacturer is experiencing delays sourcing one of the electronic components used to produce them. As a result, supplies of new tags are currently limited.
To help us manage the remaining stock as fairly as possible while we wait for new deliveries, from Thursday 6 August we will temporarily stop accepting online TamarTag application forms. You can still apply via email and post.
How to apply for a new TamarTag
New TamarTag applications can be made by completing our application form. This can either be:
- Downloaded from our website and returned by email, or
- Completed at the Tamar Bridge office and handed in at reception.
Processing applications this way allows us to register applications in the order they are received and allocate tags fairly as new stock becomes available.
We are also exploring whether some older-style tags can be safely refurbished and reused in exceptional circumstances where customers have an urgent need to travel regularly, for example for essential medical treatment.
We are expecting our next delivery of new tags towards the end of September. However, due to current demand, customers applying now may experience a wait of up to four weeks from submitting an application to receiving a tag.
Existing TamarTag customers
If you already have a TamarTag and it develops a fault or needs replacing, please contact our Customer Services team by email or by calling 01752 361577.
Please continue using your existing tag while you wait for a replacement. Your account will continue to receive the TamarTag discounted toll rate while your replacement is being processed.
We appreciate that this situation may be frustrating and thank customers for their patience and understanding. We will provide updates as soon as we have further information.
If you would like to check the progress of your application, please contact Customer Services by phone or email. We kindly ask customers not to make a special journey to the Tamar Bridge office for application updates, as our reception team is unable to provide progress updates in person.
