Ferry Refit – Tamar II – April 2019 – Updated 14th May 2019

Progress remains very good. The headlines are that the decks have now had their non slip coatings applied and the deck markings are progressing, the prows are now back on and are being set to work this week, and all other work is nearing completion. Subject to the successful set to work of the prows it is intended to flood the dock early on Thursday 16 May 2019 which will allow the full set to work of the diesel generators and new power management system and the proving of all the other mechanical and electrical systems. If all goes well, and the weather is within limits, it is currently planned that the TAMAR will be towed back to Torpoint next week. Once back, the towing gear will have to be removed and the ferry prepared for service which will take a few days.
