Do I need to approach the booths or ferry lanes differently with a tag?

As with any highway you drive safely and follow the speed limit. Having a tag doesn’t change that. At the bridge, approach the lanes cautiously, paying attention to the traffic signals. Only when the traffic light turns green the barrier will raise.

You may hear a “beep” this does not mean it is safe to pass. You must wait for the lights.

The Ferry collectors will indicate which lane to proceed into and there are speed limits on the approach to the ferry.
