E-scooters on the Torpoint Ferry

Tamar Crossings’ primary responsibility is the safe operation of the Torpoint Ferry and the areas under our control. We are not a police or enforcement authority, and our staff do not have powers to determine whether an individual e-scooter is being used lawfully, insured, or otherwise compliant with road traffic legislation.

Any matters relating to the legality of e-scooter use are the responsibility of the police and other relevant enforcement authorities. Where staff witness behaviour that may constitute a road traffic offence or present a safety concern, this may be reported through the appropriate channels for consideration by the police.

Tamar Crossings staff may take action where the use or carriage of an e-scooter creates an immediate operational or safety risk on the ferry, slipways, marshalling areas or other areas under our control.
