Why does the TamarTag admin fee fund things other than tag administration?

It doesn’t – in fact, it is the other way around.

Currently, the TamarTag scheme costs more to run than the administration fee generates, meaning the shortfall is subsidised by other toll revenue. This arrangement is not financially sustainable, which is why we are proposing changes to make the scheme self-funding.
