Tamar Bridge Office Development

Work has commenced on a £4.7 million project to develop the Bridge Office site to provide modern facilities to replace or augment the existing facilities, most of which have been in place since the opening of the Bridge some 56 years ago. The new facilities include:

· a new 24/7 Control Room

· a new Customer Service Centre

· improved and extended office accommodation

· a planned learning centre 'Bridging the Tamar' supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund ()

These facilities will play an important part in the future delivery of our mission - safe, reliable and efficient crossings of the Tamar. In particular, they will ;

· provide improved resilience and technology to

· meet operational requirements

· meet current and forecast front line customer services requirements

· allow an effective response to incidents, emergencies and

· other unforeseen occurrences

· ensure that the Bridge and associated infrastructure are operated and managed appropriately

The project was substantively complete by late Summer 2018.

While every effort is being made to minimize the impact of this project on our day-to-day operations, there will be reduction in parking facilities at the Bridge during the project. Customers are encouraged to use our online facilities to manage their TamarTag accounts and to check on the progress of the project.
